• I don't think that Germans are more educated or "deeper" than people in other countries. I have had deep conversations with educated people from many different countries. An American with a college degree might have a bigger general education than many Germans. I also dislike it when some Germans think they are smarter than other.
  
  But then.... those people exist everywhere. The best example is this forum. There are many people here arguing that their country is better.
  
  I'm in favor of free speech (an American value) and I don't want to censor anybody. You have the right to express your opinion and I have the right to reply to you and tell you my point of view. I think you overreacted when Expat expressed his personal feeling and you saw it as an attack on the American education system. Maybe you have met many arrogant Germans and now you think all are the same.
