Outside perspective

• I've just finished reading this thread and I must say that I'm a bit shocked. I'm Scandinavian and I just recently considered moving to south Africa for employment. I have a family with children and hence I wish to educate myself a bit about the country before accepting my new position. It's very strange how little of what you tell here actually is presented through media. My general impression of South Africa is that indeed there are problems but it's a transitional period and most likely it will be a stronger more together nation once passed. I would say that the general impression of SA in Scandinavia actually is that of a successfull nation with great riches and possibilities to an outdoor lifestyle in the sun. I guess after reading this thread my view is considerably different. Never realised that it was this bad, how sad.
