Obtaining Canadian Experience

  • The easiest way to obtain Canadian Experience is to work as a volunteer for a non for profit organization such as the Canadian Blood Services, Aids of Cancer Society. It may be a tough pill to swallow for some people with outstanding qualifications, but the reality is that the job market in Canada requires you to have "prior Canadian experience".
I suggest you to contact the charity of your choice, tell them that you would like to work for them for 4-6 months and that should get the paperwork going. Keep in mind that Citizenship and Immigration Canada take a long time to process these applications, but once you have the "volunteer offer" from the Canadian Charity and you prove that you have enough funds to support yourself for that period, and you should obtain the permit this way.

    Good Luck

PS: Keep in mind that the job permit will be specific for the duration and organization that has offered you a position. If you were to switch positions or organizations, you will need the approval of CIC
