I think your experience will very much depend on the type of family. As in most countries, there are quite a lot of differences in living styles in Russia. For example, you might end up in a tiny village in a conservative, catholic region. Or you live with post-modern family in Moscow and have complete freedom. However, most aupairs find their experience in a Russian family a pleasant one. And if you go with one of the many aupair-organizations, so can always change families if things don't go along.
