The best hospitals and doctors are in the major cities, so if you live in a small town or rural area, it’s definitely worth the commute when seeking treatment. It can also be difficult to find an english speaking doctor, who are most commonly found in the private hospitals and clinics. It’s important to be aware that there’s a lot of corruption in the healthcare system, with some practitioners even falsifying tests.

Private healthcare in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has a social security system which covers basic health treatments and also applies to foreigners with a fully integrated residency status. However, even if you are covered by social security, you might want to take out additional private health insurance as public treatment is relatively basic.
