  I don't wrote, that my great-grandfather (not grandfather) was a rebell. He wasn't. He was just a normal member of the SPD (german social democrats party). And beeing a social democrat was enough no get killed by the nazis. Many of social democrats and communists were killed in the years of 1933-1945 (my great-grandfather was killed in 1937 in Buchenwald).
  
  Ant there were a lot of resistance groups in Germany. Never heard about the "White Rose"?
