residence permit and end of job?

• To whom it may concern: I am a resident of a EU-country, thinking about moving to switzerland to work there. I understand that I can have a three month permit (aufenthaltsbewilligung) before getting a job. However, what happens when I would lose the job is unclear to me: is there also a three month period for finding a new job - and if I don't find one by then, I should leave the country?
  
  And can someone tell me how residence permits relate with family matters? For instance: if I have a job in Switzerland, is my wife automatically allowed to live there as well?
