I love UBC!

• No matter what people may say in the rankings. I have spent 8 years in UBC (4 as an undergrad and 4 in my PhD). The quality of life is outstanding. In no other place in Canada you can ski in the morning and sail/scuba dive in the afternoon. I am in the technology area, and I am literally minutes from Redmond Washington (the headquarters of Microsoft) and a short flight away from Silicon Valley.
  
  It is a great place for your family too. It is expensive to live (the cost of housing is among the largest in Canada), but it is worth it.
