Which visa should my Peruvian husband apply for?

• Please could someone help me with my query:
  
  I am a British citizen, married to a Peruvian. I would like my husband to come out to the UK, to live a work, and wonder which visa he would be best to apply for. As he is a dentist, he may qualify to apply under the Highly Skilled Migrants Category; the other option would be the Settlement visa.
  
  For which visa do you think he should apply? What I really want to know, obviously, is under which scheme his application is more likely to be approved.
  
  Any comments, experiences or thoughts on the issue would be very much appreicated
