Do I need to apply for fresh dependent visa for my family?

• I have work permit and working in UK. My family is also with me in UK on dependent visa. Our visa is valid for another 6 months. Now I wish to apply for HSMP (tier1), do I need to send the applicatioon for my family or they still can stay here till there current visa expires? Is it mandatory to apply for their visa now or I can apply for there visa later?
