Cost of living in Dubai

• Hi all,
  
  I have been offered a job in Dubai. I am a single male. I don't drink or smoke. I am pure vegetarian.
  Just wanted to know how much on an average can I expect to spend for a decent life in Dubai. The job is in Dubai City itself. What are my options?
  
  I have seen some people recomment staying in Sharjah and travelling to Dubai only for work as it is very expensive. Kindly advise.
