Working here in Berlin

  • I think it's not too hard to find some sort of work but the best chance to start with is some kind of placement, even if you're qualified. I found some work teaching with an agency, but it wasn't much.

BUT you've got to speak German comfortably, don't just assume that you can speak English all the time.

I'm now working with a language school and I get lessons there as a bonus, but you can never really have enough practice. You should find a language course first, and prioritise that before you go looking for a job. I know my teaching would have been better if my German was better.

Trust me - if you really want to come here, make your German skills a priority, and find a school(I can recommend the school I work for...). It's not so hard, it just takes time to build confidence.

PS if anyone wants to exchage emails in German, or wants to know a little more, contact me at: [email removed]
