Can I fly with Thrombocytosis ?
-
I have been diagnosed with Thrombocytosis. When I asked whether it is OK to fly I was told that the increase in risk is minimal, although there is a higher risk of developing DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis). Does anyone have any advice for me?

Take precautions against DVT
Make sure you exercise during a flight. This means getting up to go for walks and also doing exercises with the legs while seated.
Don't drink alcohol and keep dehydrated with water and/or fruit juice and/or fresh fruit.
Wear compression stockings.Anonymous 20 dic 2006, 12:09 - Denunciar -
Thrombocytosis in infants
My three-month old son has been tested as positive with Thrombocytosis. It is probably this has been caused by an infection and is not a permanent condition. We are meant to be taking a flight home at Christmas. Does anyone know if there is a risk for infants from DVT or other form of thrombosis?
