Permanent residence

• Hi,
  I'm a canadian citizen and I would like to join a formation program in wich I will be called to work for 5 years in Singapore. One of the requirements is to be a singapore citizen or a permanent resident. How could I get the permanent resident status since I don't think I fit in any of the groups allowed and that a student pass is not sufficient.
