Computers in Saudi, Mac or PC ??

  • Hello All,

I will be moving to Jeddah within the next month, insha'Allah. I have a question regarding computers. I have a Macbook that I purchased here in the States. Will it work properly in KSA, as the voltage, etc is different there?? Should I bring it along, or should I seek to buy a new computer once I am there?

    Hi Syed:
Voltage in Jeddah is mainly 110V and 220V and I think your comuputer will be ok. Having said that, PCs are dominating and macs are rarely used.

  • Macs Are No Problem

Syed, Hate to disagree with Abdullah, but you will have no problem with Macs. They are being sold in the major electronic stores and there are several stores specializing in Apple products.

So, don't worry. You can travel and compute in style, with your Mac Book.

it is the Global Store in Centria Mall at the intersection of Olaya and Tahlia Streets. global seems to have a friendlier support team as well.
