ABN-AMRO, Rabobank, or the Postbank
These 3 banks, ABN-AMRO, Rabobank, or the Postbank, are known to have the best internet banking tools. Personally I use the ABN-AMRO one, however this is not after thorough research, simply because I have been banking with them for over 20 years.

Internet Banking
I've tried the Internet banking interfaces of ABN AMRO and Postbank and they are both quiet embarrassing (at least compared to the one of Swiss banks). At the time of writing the one from ABN AMRO has been down for a couple of days. They both lack any kind of decent overview or PDF download of account statements, ...

Online banking in English at ABN Amro
I believe ABN Amro is the only bank that offers internet banking in english. I had poor service experiences with ABN Amro trying to set-up my internet banking and credit card but stuck with it since I would prefer to bank in my native tongue even when online.
Yo can also make international wire transfers through the ABN Amro internet banking (if you have all the needed account information) which can be useful for Expats. Of course the other big banks also probably provide this service although perhaps not in English pages.Graham 24 Feb 2008, 12:37 - Report -
ABN-AMRO bank sucks
I have been using ABN-AMRO for quiet some time now. The only reason i have an account with them is cause they have internet banking in english. The staff is terrible more over half of the time their service requires you to carry all the documents with you whenever your card stops working or you cannot access money from your account

Problems with Abn-Amro
Its true Abn-amro is the only one having internet banking in english. Their service is terrible, staff is not co-operative. Unfortunately this is the only option you have if you prefer banking in english. Service of ING is quiet good but the internet banking is in dutch.

bank? BRE Bank (mBank) in Poland
I have marvellous bank account in Poland in mBank with superb internet banking. Bank is open 24/7 via mLinie (phone line) and of course via internet. You have access for ALL banking tools all the time. Even on Saturday night.
Cards, credit products, stock exchanges tools available! And of course most of product inclusive cards, saving accounts are for free!!
Not like in Netherlands. Everything is close after 5 pm or in the weekends like in a small village !!

Dutch banking experience
We have moved back to the Netherlands a few month ago having spend quite some time in the UK and the US. We had all forgotten how bad the banks and service were but it took all but a couple of days to bring it all back. We had tried all three; ABN-Amro was terrible, Rabo Bank was pretty useless and yes - even the ING Bank we use now utterly sucks! If anybody knows of a good one for service and internet banking please let me know! Good luck!

Dutch banking
I have tried all three of the major banks and they are all useless. I was given the wrong account number by postbank - who then opened an ING account instead, so my first salary bounced back to the originator (luckily not to someone else's account). ABM Amro were rude and unhelpful. I yearn for a proper bank again! The service in Belgium - even from ING - is far superior to the service from the same bank in the Netherlands (i.e. they DO have an all-English service), but I think you have to go to the UK to get anything like proper service from the banks... even with the troubles they are in at present they at least know the value of service!

Abn Amro misery :(
Not only do I have to cope with near invisible bank transactions (I use a Mac and field text is practically the same colour as the background on any browser :S) I have to scoll through many, many, many transactions to find specific transactions that I'm looking for just because you can't search by name only by book date which is sooooo infuriating.
I agree with Esso, Poland is much more forward thinking than The Netherlands in many respects. I'm going to laugh so much if Dutch start moving to Poland to find work because Holland refuses to get out of the '80s.Ilah 17 Jun 2009, 10:23 - Report -
Dutch Banking.
I have to agree with most of the posts here - banking in this country is chronic. Their service is nothing short of disgraceful and customers are - at best - a necessary evil & not to be listened to or (god forbid) even actually helped. I've moved banks a number of times and each one is as bad as the others (although ABN-Amro really take the cake as they HAVE to be the ABSOLUTE worst for customer service.) Having said that, I bank at ABN-Amro simply because I have no choice anymore (which, I guess, is what they know and hence why they have such crap service.) The only one I havent tried yet is Rabobank but when I went to open an account they told I needed an appointment and then never called me back to make it! Clearly a good start...
Of all the banks I have used over the years before I came to Holland, Dutch banks are far and away the worst (in ALL respects) and most old fashioned.WAllen 28 Jul 2009, 02:26 - Report -
