i'd like to know that too...so if you've found any info would appreciate it. I've heard The English School of Kuwait www.tes.edu.kw is pretty good; and there is The English School Fahaheel as well...but haven't heard anything more about either

Which school
For girls- the English School for Girls in Salwa. NES is a good mixed school, as is KES.
BSK tends to be where the rich Indians send their kids and s it is very much a page and book, study, pass etc school- also many teachers there were fired after the last Gulf War when they left the country, even though they had been promised to keep their jobs.
Stay away from Future Bilingual, a cowboy set up in Fahaheel.

AAG is also a good school for girls-american curriculum.
There are many new schools popping up but you are probably just as well sticking with the list posted on the information link on this blogAnonin Q8 13 Jul 2007, 11:16 - Report -
Check.
You need to call the Kuwait Education System.

Asma, try to apply at smart school located in salwa. I hear that they are hiring teachers. Also, you can try at etakamul in sabah al-salem. they are hiring assistant teachers. All the best.

Best schools
The English School (www.tes.edu.kw) in Salmiya is the school which was originally set up by employees of the British Embassy. It has the highest ratio of British children - a little oasis of Englishness in Kuwait! There are also non-Brits but children have to speak good English. The standards are equivalent to UK, so your children will not fall behind the UK system while you are out here. It's hard to pick a school without visiting but once you have a look around and compare this school will stand head and shoulders above the rest. It caters for ages 2 and a half up to 13.

Schools in Kuwait
The English School in Salmiya is by far the BEST school for western expat children under 12 years of age. It's got a great community feeling, is very secure, parents are encouraged to get involved through the Parents Association and are allowed on school grounds to pick up / drop off kids (unlike places like BSK where theyre not). There is plenty of room in playgrounds and larger classrooms. I chose it by instinct and after hearing horror stories from other western parents who have pulled out their kids from other schools and got them into T.E.S, I'm so glad I trusted my gut judgement. We are from Australia and couldn't be happier with the education our child is getting in Reception year. It's also a not for profit school (which means a LOT in this country) and where most embassy staff send their primary school aged children. I can't comment on high school, but by that stage TES kids go on together to either K.E.S or BSK (or boarding schools in the UK).

ESF every time!
I was educated at the English School Fahaheel before moving back to the UK, where I was accepted into a good public school where I found myself to be at a higher standard than my peers who had been educated in the UK. I could not have achieved this without the high standards at the ESF.

meri 09 Jul 2008, 06:21 - Report -
To Meri
Where are you coming from Meri? If you're from the UK and your boys are fairly academic then KES (Kuwait English School) would be choice number one and secondly NES (New English School). THis is the feeder school where the kids from TES (The ENglish School) come from (including British EMbassy and British Military Mission kids).

Best schools
Only choose between Kuwait English School and New English School. Both teach to A level, have good results and good relations with unis all over the world. Other schools all have their own agendas which are not in the interests of the children.

It is a shame you can't even spell. This reflects the standards at The English Academy. If Mr. Vernall leaves Kuwait to work in London I doubt he would be accepted in a UK school. The school is also run by another person don't know her current title but she is another complete asshole and a waste of space... all I can say is "Hell hath no FURY"...

Best School I've went to.
I went 4 schools so far, and am planning on leaving the one I am currently in because it's the worst...I could tell from the first 3 days.
I went to Dasman Model School, British School of Kuwait, Kuwait English School and the one I am currently in is Kuwait International English School. From my experience the best school was Kuwait English School (but with the worst owners & management), then the British School of Kuwait (teachers have a bad attitude towards a student), then Dasman Model School (the students there aren't smart enough to pick up the school's reputation), and then Kuwait International English School (I have millions of reasons why you shouldn't choose that school, but their management is the best!).Shoug 31 Aug 2008, 08:41 - Report -
TEA
I started working at TEA just two years ago. It is obvious from the postings that one malicious person is writing all this negative stuff about the place - even pretending to be a student!! In fact most can probably guess who it is - one of those incompetent teachers that was asked to leave by the new head. It is so sad that SW you have to make personal slurs about someone just because your incompetence was found out. You are indeed very bitter and twisted [can't be good for kids now can it?]. Seems like TEA is a better place without you!!

British schools
Ange, the best British schools in Kuwait are: KES, TES [only up to Year 8], NES and TEA. For Brits it is probably best to go to KES if you want your child with other western children. If this does not bother you, NES and TEA are also very good. NES is huge. TEA is much smaller. Hope this is of some help.
