  The thing is that racism towards Turks is far more accepted in Greece, than in Turkey. Todays Turks doesnt care about what happend 100 years ago, simply because that would be retarded since they didnt even live back then. They have moved on. But people in nations such as Greece, Bulgaria, Armenia etc. havent moved on. They are still living in the old mind-set and have prejudice towards Turks. Specially Armenia where racism towards Turkish people are openly accepted. They even teach this in schools. This is a big issue. Only the true human beings with an open heart will be able to see that we are all the same. Nationality is just a method of dividing people into states, therefore racism is an utter ignorance.

  Well,i guess that my friend from above didnt have
  any relatives of his being slaughtered as sheep nor his house burned to the ground not even his country divided.
  Yeap the Turks moved on,they just dont admit it.
  They killed 1,5 million Armenians but they refuse
  that this ever happened (they just admit that they killed only(!) 300.000 ).
  They have driven out many Greek people from their homeland but now they just deny that these people ever existed (eg saying that all the Greek settlements in Asia minor are Roman ).
  Maybe that guy thinks that he is open minded with a clear heart that understands that everybody is equal.
  Id love to hear his opinion about the Armenian genocide and all the other crimes his country commited and still does with the Kurds (if we are all the same why they dont have the right to speak their language?).
  What does he has to say about the Greek prisoners
  from the Cyprus war who are still missing?
  What about the 500.000 Pontic Greeks?
  What about the closing down of the school for priests in Constantinople?.
  What about the 300.000 Greek people that used to live there untill 1955?
  The catalog is endless...and the sad story is that probably they will never change.
  
  A civilised , open minded true human being as you say would never take part in such atrocities.
  In fact such atrocities continue to happen there.

  i am not greek nor turkish, but i live in a neighborhood surrounded by mostly greeks and i must say i've really come to dislike them as a whole. every greek i have met, even the 'nice' ones, are extremely cocky and arrogant. not a single day goes by without greece being mentioned. not one single day!!! most of the greeks i met look down on non-greeks. they are stubborn. their music is horribly annoying when they blast it from their cars. and from personal experience i must say that while the ancient greeks were intelligent and made a lot of contributions to the world, modern day greeks sure make themselves look like a bunch of f***ing ignorant jackasses.

  I don't have any problems with any kind of greek people however it does not make any sense why does either Turks or greeks still hate eachother? is is about the history? why do people not try to forget the past to make future better or livible?
  how long this hate sicknesses will take?
  
  I've seen too many bad topics that were created by greeks or Turks who live together during hundreds years in the same areas around the same empire and ideas with the faith and friendship..
  
  and I also have something too that I do hate a lot..called racism and conservatism..
  
  I think you people have to argue for these two problems and solves..

  it is with great sadness that i my self dont consider cypriots pure greeks thousands of years of occupation by a variety of nations would say so otherwise the fact that they speak a dialect of greek does not make you a pure greek. iam not trying to be racist far from it, i know egyptians that speak better greek from me,i have met old italian guys that consider them self from greek ancestry,so why the comments.i come from a pure greek community as my father would say simply for the fact that the turks never managed to conquer and feared like the devil him self during the occupation of greece.iam an ARVANITI and i can trace my family which lived in athens from 500 years ago to today and we also are from the first people to settle in hellenic times. and we are also the ones that kicked the turks asses when the independence of greece was declared in 1821. just want to make a point that the greeks were never afraid of turks and never will be just look at history no matter what battle we ever fought we were always out numbered by at least 3-1. greeks 10million turks60million no sweat any time, but on the other hand i dont hate and never will hate turks because my mums grandparent were greeks living in smyrna micra asia for centuries so i do have alot of love for that country and its people, so enough from all the people that get on and swear on this forum lets all hear about real facts greece vs turkey.

  I am Greek and I can say there is still hate against Turks in Greece . Greek media twist all facts concerning turkish "provocations" for their own interest. That is the main factor which instigates all that hatred. Secondly its our history books. They underline all the atrocities Turks did to us but not a word about what we did to them. A couple of years ago an effort was made to change the books of history. But it didn't have any result because the nationalists and all of those that gain from the tension between the 2 countries reacted angrily.
  So the hate is still alive but it is not the people to blame but all of these who earn from this hate. That unfortunately includes some big countries of the EU (France, Germany, UK) which support this tensions in order to get rich by selling us costly weapons.
  To sum up, don't blame Greek people for this hate. They are so brainwashed that they can not realised it. Moreover, they believe Turks are more brainwashed than them!

  Most of todays ¨Turks¨ are former Greeks and vice versa.
  So it´s stupid to keep fighting each other.
  But I have to say I like Greek culture more then Turkish culture because one has a very rich history and the other is Nomadic culture from Asia.

  these three years i'm studing in italy and i follow every one day the news, for this reason i know very well the situation now. i have a lot of friends and please believe me that nobody hate turks. i met a lot of turks and i didn't feel something negative of their behavior to me never. the newspapers and all this kind of information stuff, take a small thing and changing in a huge story to avoid explain other scandals and problems that we have
