Problem with my caution / Kaution / Mietshicherheit (English)

• Hi,
  
  I left my flat in Berlin 2 months ago. The agency did not send me back yet my caution (Kaution/Mietshicherheit) (1200 euros).
  
  I called and they say I have to wait 6 months. I think it's really really long (in France it's 2 months).
  
  Does anybody knows the legal period they hve to refund a caution ?
  Should I be suspicious about them ?
  
  anyway I can't wait 6 months.
