Keep health insurance from the US?

• I will be moving to Germany in October and wonder if I need a German health insurance for my stay. I looked on some insurance pages in Germany but got the feeling that German insurance policies are incredible expensive!! I have a private insurance from the United States right now. Can I just keep on using this insurance in Germany? Thanks for your help!!

  I don't think you can use it. What you might be able to do is to simply pay your medicall bills in Germany, and when you go back to the US, reclaim the bills from your insurance company.
